| Hi everyone,
I know I don't often post on xanga but I really want to start posting more often. Both pics AND random thoughts! So be on the lookout for more regular postings.
I've been thinking about a lot of things recently, so I'm just going to post my random thoughts. Some of them you might disagree with, which I welcome. After all, the world would be so boring if we all thought the same thing and liked the same thing, you know?
PREGNANCY: Most of you all know by now...I'm pregnant! 5 months pregnant, to be exact. I'm due mid June so this baby will be a summer baby. We THINK it's a girl! But of course the baby could be hiding the goods when we did the ultrasound. I love baby girls. Nothing against baby boys, but girls just look prettier. =) And girls of course are the superior gender. I'm so excited to be a mom. I want to be a good mom and just teach this little one how good God is, and how she has great things ahead of her.
The first trimester was pretty horrible--lots of congestion, and fatigue, vomiting. The second trimester is SO much better. AND I'm starting to show! yay! a baby bump!
CHRISTIAN STUFF: I really want to live my life for God instead of myself. But often, in Irvine, when I'm working a "corporate" job, in a nice office, living in suburbia, it's hard to see how exactly I'm doing that. Like I understand Christians who go to the middle east, or Africa, and they dedicate their lives serving the poor and the oppressed--see, THEY really live for God. But what about me in Irvine? How is God using me? I think God is slowing revealing some answers to me, but I plan on continuing to seek and ask.
I've been thinking about this passage from Revelations 3 lately: These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God's creation. I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. You say, 'I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.' But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.
I don't want to be lukewarm, and I think honestly--I have been. I mean, I serve at youth group on fridays, go to church on sundays, and that's pretty much the extent of my faith. I want to be LIVING MY LIFE FOR GOD, you know? Like take up my cross and follow Him with all of my heart, mind, and soul. This church that Jesus so bitingly says he's going to SPIT OUT OF HIS MOUTH...that's not the Jesus-loves-you-so-much-he-wants-to-hug-you that I know. I mean, later in this passage, you see how much He does love them, and so longs for them to repent. But who knew that just being "lukewarm" is so disgusting to Jesus?
PATRIOTS: I love this team. Go Patriots! Win the Superbowl! Make sports history! If you lose, I will be heartbroken.
THE ENVIRONMENT: everyone needs to eat less meat. read this article: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/27/weekinreview/27bittman.htmlem&ex=1201842000&en=7490d3223d2f16cb&ei=5087%0A
OK, that's enough random thoughts from me. I promise to update more and put more pictures up!

this picture makes me very sad.
| does anyone have an old verizon phone that they're not using anymore? My husband jumped in the pool not knowing that he had his new Razr in his pocket and so now the phone doesn't work. =( sadness.
so yeah, if you have one you'd like to donate, we'd appreciate it very much!

Yes, I've shamelessly jumped onto the Golden State bandwagon. Go B-Davis! Go Coach Nellie! Yay for the whole Warriors team!
| Announcements to OCCEC high school/college people:
RETREAT is May 25th-28th! We booked a huge house/mansion all to ourselves for the weekend so mark your calendars! We'll hand out registration forms at youth group next friday.
Also, does anyone need help studying? I'm planning to study at Barnes with Victor monday night and with Stephanie and Crystal Saturday late mornings. So if you want to join us, let me know! I know for me, I get the most work done when I'm not near Internet or TV.
Recent Janet obsessions: I'm still obsessed with Settlers of Catan. The game says you need a minimum of 3 players but I make Ken play with me one-on-one ALL the time. (that's what husbands are for, right?)
I'm addicted to Lollicup's frozen yogurt. Good stuff man. They should give me a cut of their profits because I do so much publicity for them. If you haven't tried it, you need to. It's refreshing, it's healthy, and it's just plain addictive.
NBA Playoffs!!! DEEE-troit BasketBALLL!!!! I'm hoping this is their year to win another championship. I'm also rooting for Golden state. How awesome would that be if Mavericks lost in the first round? And how cute is Leandro Barbosa? He's so cute! He looks like a baby turtle (who runs really fast).
I'm really looking forward for the summer. Good weather, summer small groups, summer movies, retreat, NBA finals, and more excuses to get frozen yogurt. YES.
